Disney+ Launches Today! What Will (And Will Not) Be Available To Stream

The new DISNEY+ streaming service launches today. Here are the new shows and movies premiering at launch . . . 

• The series premiere of"The Mandalorian" onDisney+Pedro Pascal from "Game of Thrones" stars as the title character. It takes place in the years between the destruction of the second Death Star and the latest "Star Wars" trilogy. 

• The movie"Noelle" premieres on Disney+Anna Kendrick is Kris Kringle's daughter and Bill Hader is her brother Nick. He becomes the new Santa when their dad retires, but when he runs away she leaves the North Pole to find him. 

• The live-action remake of"Lady and the Tramp" premieres on Disney+. It stars Tessa Thompson as the voice of Lady, Justin Theroux as Tramp, and includes Janelle Monae as one of their animal friends. 

• The series premiere of"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" on Disney+. This is a scripted show about a group of students attending the school where "High School Musical"was filmed, and putting on their own version of it.

• The series premiere of "Encore!" on Disney+Kristen Bell hosts a show that reunites cast members of a high school musical years later to recreate their performances as adults.

• The series premiere of "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" on Disney+.  Actor Jeff Goldblum travels the world offering his quirky insights into pretty much anything that fascinates and inspires him.

• The series premiere of "The Imagineering Story" on Disney+. A show about the history and creation of the Disney theme parks around the world.

• The series premiere of "Marvel's Hero Project" on Disney+. A documentary series about kids who are making a positive change in their community.

• The series premiere of "Forky Asks a Question" on Disney+. A series of short films about the spork from"Toy Story 4"

20 Disney Movies and TV Shows That Aren't on Disney+ . . . Yet

Even though Disney is boasting about how they're throwing EVERYTHING onto the service . . . NOT everything will be there from the start.

Most of the absences have to do with licensing and exclusivity deals that were previously negotiated . . . or other rights issues that haven't been ironed out.

Buzzfeed has a list of 55 titles that "shockingly" won't be on Disney+. That's melodramatic, but here are the highlights, and where they ARE streaming.

1. "Coco". . .It's exclusively streaming on Netflix.

2. "Up". . . It's not streaming anywhere right now.

3. "Enchanted". . . It's not streaming anywhere.

4. "National Treasure". . . Netflix.

5. "Sonny with a Chance". . . It's not streaming anywhere.

6. "Holes". . . HBO Go and HBO Now.

7. "The Mighty Ducks". . . HBO Go and HBO Now.

8. The 1999 animated"Tarzan". . . Netflix.

9. "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey". . . HBO Go and HBO Now.

10. "The Incredible Hulk". . . It's not streaming anywhere.

11. "Thor: Ragnarok". . . Netflix.

12. "Spider-Man: Homecoming". . . It's not streaming anywhere.

13. "Black Panther". . . Netflix.

14. "Avengers: Infinity War". . . Netflix.

15. "Ant-Man and the Wasp". . . Netflix.

16. "Spider-Man: Far From Home". . . It's not streaming anywhere.

17. "Toy Story 4". . . It's not streaming anywhere. Newer releases like this will likely become available in 2020, but not at the launch.

18. "Deadpool". . . It's not streaming anywhere. Disney is keeping Disney+ family-friendly, so R-rated movies will never make the cut.

19. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi". . . Netflix.

20. The recent, live-action versions of "Beauty and the Beast", "The Jungle Book", "The Lion King", "Dumbo", and"Aladdin". . .

They're all not streaming anywhere right now.
