Couples Who Roast Each Other Have A Stronger Bond

Want to feel closer to your partner? Try a little light-hearted teasing (the key phrase there being: LIGHT-HEARTED). Research suggests couples who banter with each other share a stronger bond. I love this, big fan of light-hearted teasing...especially when I'm the one doing the teasing :)

According to a study from Appalachian State University, couples who “roast each other daily” have a longer and happier relationship than those who don’t. We’re talking about good-natured teasing, like laughing at the way your sweetie always gets the words to songs wrong. These little inside jokes about each other’s little quirks can help you form a deeper connection.

“Having fun and laughing with your partner is one of the best things you can do to strengthen your bond,” says couples psychotherapist Christine Elvin. She explains that “roasting” each other is more about laughing together than laughing at one person specifically. And as long as your partner is into it, bring on the comic relief and keep teasing each other to keep your relationship going strong.
