Sunken U.S. WWII Ship Found

U.S. researchers uncovered the sunken remains of a WWII aircraft carrier that sunk in 1942.

The USS Wasp was sunk by the Japanese submarine I-19 in the Coral Sea.

176 crew members died.

Researchers made the discovery back in January and this week they unveiled their findings.

The wreck was found near the Solomon Islands at a depth of nearly 14,000 feet.

An unmanned camera took shots of the sunken ship, including the anchor and anti-aircraft guns.

Work was sponsored by the Paul G Allen's Vulcan Inc.
