Monkeypox is continuing to spread across the globe, with 346 cases in 22 countries confirmed so far. So how can you make sure you're protected? First off, monkeypox spreads through close contact - in fact, most new cases have been sexually transmitted. Also, people who have been vaccinated against smallpox - even as a child - are mostly protected from monkeypox. For further protection, keep away from people who have been diagnosed or are showing symptoms. Use facemasks or PPE gear if necessary. Wash your hands after coming in contact with animals or people who have been infected, or after touching surfaces that they have touched.   Most experts don't think it's necessary to isolate or avoid public spaces. Children, pregnant women, and people who are immunocompromised have the highest risk of a serious infection. How concerned are you about monkeypox?
