Kelsea Ballerini shared an update on her relationship goals with boyfriend Chase Stokes.
The Patterns superstar and the Outer Banks actor set a goal at the start of the year to encourage one another to become “hotter, funnier and more ambitious.” TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Justin Sylvester asked Ballerini about that goal when she appeared on TODAY with Jenna & Friends on Thursday morning (May 29).
“It’s going well,” Ballerini said. “Lots of laying in bed with red light masks on because I feel like that’s funny, it makes you hotter, I think, and it’s ambitious to do. So that’s kind of three birds, one stone.”
Throughout the interview, Ballerini also spoke with Bush Hager and Sylvester about her first-ever headlining arena tour earlier this year, her first season as a coach on The Voice, her acting debut on Doctor Odyssey, and how Dolly Parton inspired her “dream role.”
Ballerini and Stokes began talking in December 2022, when the country singer-songwriter slid into his DMs on Instagram. They first sparked dating rumors the following month because Stokes shared a photo of the couple sitting closely together at the College Football Playoff National Championship at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Shortly after that, Ballerini confirmed the new relationship with Stokes an interview on Call Her Daddy. The pair have since shared sweet glimpses of their romance on social media and in interviews, and the “First Rodeo” star thanked her boyfriend “for making me write love songs.”
