What happens when a construction forklift is unlocked with a key inside while sitting at an elementary school?
A kid swipes it.
A Construction Genie GTH-636 Telehandler, equipped with a forklift and weighing up to 35,000 pounds, was sitting at Forsyth Middle School in Ann Arbor, Michigan unlocked with the key of the floor and a 12-year-old took advantage.
The kid took it for a spin and in the process hit 10 parked vehicles as police chased the vehicle!
This happened after dark on Saturday and the boy didn’t turn the headlights on.
After an hour-long chase that ended outside city limits, the boy parked the heavy equipment and was arrested.
Just how and why the boy pulled the stunt is now being investigated.
