Mickey Guyton shared how she felt a renewed sense of “magic” during the holiday season after welcoming her son.

The Texas-born artist and her husband, Grant Savoy, welcomed son Grayson in February 2021. Guyton said when she caught up with iHeartCountry on the red carpet at the 59th CMA Awards that she “used to always get the ‘Christmas blues,’ because, you know, it’s just a sign that life is so short. And then once I had my son, Christmas became magical again for me.”

Guyton said she felt inspired “to write something for him, and something that could live on after me.” In October, she released her new 8-track holiday album Feels Like Christmas, to ring in the 2025 holiday season with cherished family traditions on the way. “It’s just so important and it’s just been really fun to watch him [Grayson] enjoy Christmas. …It’s been really cool to see him be so happy around these holidays and be with his cousins. We have all these fun traditions that I do with my family, so it’s been really cool to do that with another addition.”

Feels Like Christmas pairs “fresh, original music with timeless favorites,” reads a press release issued to announce the album’s release on October 24. That includes the first single from the festive project, “Sugar Cookie,” plus “O Holy Night,” a reimagined version of “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” from Frozen, a duet with legendary Grammy winner Michael Bolton, and more.

Guyton told iHeartCountry that “O Holy Night” is one of her favorite songs to listen to during the holiday season, along with Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Mariah Carey’s iconic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and more. The “Make It Me” artist is also ringing in the holiday season with her upcoming performance at the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (along with Cynthia Erivo, Lainey Wilson, Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw and others in the star-studded lineup. The parade will air on NBC and will stream on Peacock. It’s set to begin on Thursday, November 27 at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones with an encore broadcast at 2 p.m. ET/PT, per NBC.

Viewers can catch Guyton on screen again two days later. She teamed up with country artist Drew Baldridge on a Christmas collaboration that arrived on Friday (November 21), “Joy To Your World.” Danielle Rubio, Dalton Diehl and Johnny Simpson teamed up to write the song, which was produced by Nick Schwarz. “Joy To Your World,” a song that “captures the warmth and wonder of the holiday season,” was created for Hallmark Channels, which will feature appearances by Guyon and Baldridge (among other country artists) in A Grand Ole Opry Christmas. The movie will premiere on Saturday, November 29 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
